Nature and Neutral

nature and neutral inspiration board via Coco and Mingo

I really can’t get enough of the nature and neutral combination lately!  And since it’s sweater weather, I’m planning on incorporating more lighter neutral colors into my wardrobe (like that comfy sweater above!)! And I’m so in love with Rifle Paper Co. (who isn’t?) – I just ordered three things! Yes 1, 2, 3!! And I plan on ordering their wrapping paper for Christmas presents – the selection is just gorgeous, especially the one above (wrapped via Paper & Stitch)…nothing’s wrong with having floral wrapping paper for Christmas, right?!  Oh, and one more thing. Remember my first succulents that I was so in love with? Well, I think I did the impossible and actually killed them. I didn’t even think that could happen. Maybe I replanted them wrong? Two of them have completely wilted over! I feel like such a bad mother, maybe after some quality mourning time I’ll try my hand at plant-motherhood again. Sigh

P.S. I’m back from Puerto Rico and will send some updates on my trip soon!!

Enjoy your Tuesday!!

Dark, moody, and carefree

“What makes night within us may leave stars.” -Victor Hugo, Ninety-Three

Hi, friends! Welcome back from the weekend! I hope you had a great one!

Most of the time, I’m inspired by bright, light, white, and pastels (as you may have noticed?). Maybe it’s the fact that sometimes the dark still scares me (yeah, I admit it). But winter is on its way to New York and its starting to get darker earlier, so I can’t help but be a tiny bit inspired by it at the same time. This is definitely a color palette that I live in during the winter-time: dark burgundy, nude, and black – but in a carefree way!

Color inspiration: Pre-holiday collection

holiday collection_coco and mingo

I may be getting a little ahead of myself here, but I’ve got an early holiday-inspired color inspiration for you all today! However, not necessarily…You usually associate red, green and white with the holidays and Christmas, but really, why not use it as daily inspiration for your wardrobe and/or home? They’re such beautiful colors together! I can’t help it, as soon as the cold air hits I’m thinking about holiday shopping (I just can’t wait for the yearly holiday market vendors to set up shop in the parks here in New York!)…usually I’m a procrastinator, but my goal this year is to start early…

Violet-blush obsessions

amethyst purple jewelry | The Vamoose

I’ve been obsessed with The Vamoose online lately – their jewelry is absolutely gorgeous (see above)! They use the most beautiful stones and colors and the only problem is that I cannot for pete’s sake, settle on just one or two pieces – I love them all! I was looking to showcase some of their products today and realized that literally, any one of them could inspire today’s post and color inspiration, Violet-blush.  Take a look at their collection here!

Friday Pinterest picks_coco and mingo

Happy Friday (the 13th), friends!! I’ve got a pretty full weekend planned, and I’m pretty excited about it! Getting out of the city and into some nature to start it off!

As some of you may know, I used to work in the fashion industry. Since I left I’ve fallen behind on most runway fashion trends. This past week was Fashion Week here in New York City and I haven’t had time to browse as many collections as I would have liked to, but I’ll catch up one of these days. My style has always been pretty classic and clean with the likes of Stella McCartney, 3.1 Phillip Lim, Derek Lam, Elizabeth and James, and J.Mendel amongst some of my favorite designers. So when I saw this photo (above) along with the rest of Joie’s Spring 2014 collection, I was immediately in love! Such a beautiful, relaxed collection – I would wear each and every one of their pieces!

I feel the same way about interiors, obviously – clean, minimal, classic, beautiful…with large windows and lots of natural light. Whites, blacks and off-whites – much like the two interiors above!

I hope you enjoy your Friday and have a beautiful weekend!! Enjoy today’s Pinterest picks along with their lovely links:
