Party planning: Inspiration board for couple’s retreat
Tuesday, July 30, 2013
So I’ve been thinking about putting together an on-going series of inspiration boards specifically for party planning. I interned awhile back with a boutique wedding planning/design company here in New York, and apart from helping them put together photo shoots and wedding decor, I created some of their inspiration boards. I went into the internship really thinking that wedding planning/design was something that I wanted to learn more about and possibly delve deeper into – but truthfully, it’s a crazy business! It’s a lot of hard work, dedication, and passion, and I give all wedding planners/designers high credit! Unfortunately, I guess I just wasn’t as passionate about weddings as I was about life, so that kind of said something about my future as a wedding planner, right? However, I did learn that the thing that I loved most about the work was creating their inspiration boards. I’m excited to put together some great ideas for you, and no, not just weddings – so stay tuned for future Party Planning!
I thought today’s inspiration board would be perfect for a quaint, intimate couple’s retreat. These muted neutral colors bring a sense of nostalgia, sweetness, and romance to an outdoor getaway. Check out Reclaiming Provincial for the recipe to that beautiful looking Smoky Cardamom-Coconut Cuba Libre drink on the left! The syrup mixer contains cardamom, coconut sugar, and cinnamon – I can just imagine how delicious that is!

I think the venue you have chosen there for a wedding is perfect (and perhaps something I’ve envisioned for myself!); understated yet intimate.

Thank you, Barbara! I love that it’s intimate and casual, too! Something I may envision for myself too one day 🙂
